Start 2026 Ahead:
Jim DuBoyce on Year-End Planning That Pays Off

End-of-year work isn’t just about closing the books—it’s about setting the stage for what comes next. When organizations take the time to inventory contracts, review key dates, and align on priorities, they’re not just tidying up; they’re building a foundation for smarter decisions in the new year. Annual clean-up is a chance to pause and ask, “Do we know what’s around the corner and what needs immediate tackling in 2026?”
End–of–Year Clean Up: Future You will say, “Thanks”
Jim DuBoyce, Partner at W. Capra, opined, “End of year is a good time to inventory key contracts and terms that are date sensitive—such as Term & Termination dates, notice dates, renewal dates, business review meeting dates, and myriad other items. Having this information in one place can help align the organization around planning for the future and prioritizing activity. It is very much a blocking and tackling activity but should be part of any organization’s annual clean up. This could apply to payments, technology, category management, supply chain, or anything that is cyclical in how work or contracts are structured.”
Who needs to be involved?
DuBoyce went on to add, “This isn’t just a finance or legal exercise. Every part of the business benefits when there’s clarity on contracts and commitments. It’s about making sure no one is caught off guard and everyone is prepared to execute.”
W. Capra frequently engages with clients at the end of the year to provide our third-party lens with quick assessments and analysis that adds valuable insight into potential areas for improvement or considerations for the future. DuBoyce explained, “We have the ability to work with our clients to ensure year-round monitoring, quick hit analyses, or even technology deep dives related to their industries, and put them in a position to be aware of where they stand headed into next year.”
Jim DuBoyce is resolute in leading W. Capra clients in their considerations related to payments and retail technology. For further discussion contact Jim DuBoyce at jduboyce@wcapra.com
